Demon Attack is a classic console game for the Atari 2600 system. The game places your main character, a laser canon, on the planet Kybor, which is being invaded by waves of evil firing demons. Your mission is to destroy all the demons in one wave and move up to the next wave which consists of harder to beat demons. To win the game, you must have practice and good technique.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Stay in the middle of the screen. The firing demon shoots in the middle of the screen and tries to push you into the corner. From this position, he can easily trap and shoot you. Outsmart the demon by dodging his fire and instead of moving to the side, move back toward the middle.
Step2
Kill demons by waiting for a round of their fire to hit the ground before attacking them. Just as their fire makes contact with the ground, quickly pass under them, fire and then keep moving in the same direction before they can release another round of fire.
Step3
Watch out for pairs of demons beginning in level five. In level five of Demon attack, when you shoot a demon, it splits into a pair of two smaller demons. The demons are loyal to each other and when you shoot one of the pair, the other dives down towards you. If the small demon touches you, you will die so move to the other side of the screen and the demon dives into the ground.
Step4
Shoot the diving demons to earn maximum points. Although the diving demons are dangerous, they are worth the most points of any creature in the game, so if you are after points, attempt to kill them. Kill them by holding still and firing a shot when they cross your path. A diving demon crosses your line of fire twice. If you miss it twice, get out of the way.
Step5
Clear 84 waves of demons to win Demon Attack. If you start one game--modes five through eight, you must start on level 13, but will only have to clear 72 waves of demons to win.

Tips & Warnings

  • Firing demons aim at your laser canon and non-firing demons will avoid it. Each wave consists of one firing demon and several non-firing demons.
