Step1
Check the museum hours online before you visit. During the summer months, the South Street Seaport Museum is open daily, except on Mondays. During the winter, it is only open on weekends.
Step2
Start by checking out the impressive South Street Seaport fleet of ships. The Peking, Wavertree and Ambrose are three ships that are permanently anchored at the museum pier. They are each approximately 100 years old.
Step3
Head over to the Schermerhorn Row Galleries. This part of the museum has ongoing and traveling exhibitions. You'll find model ships, ship plans, paintings, signal flags and other ship memorabilia.
Step4
Take a cruise around New York Harbor. Check the cruising schedule at the museum to see when you can ride aboard the museum's W. O. Decker.
Step5
Look at the upcoming programs being held at the South Street Seaport Museum. Each month features family days, free admission days, concerts and lectures.
