Creating the psychedelic look of the 60's in your gift wrap can be the perfect match for that groovy gift you've found. It doesn't take much time or special supplies to create personalized gift wrap that will please anyone who's a child of the 60's in spirit.

From Quick Guide: Gift Wrapping
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 20 sheets of white tissue paper
  • Variety of food coloring
  • Several bowls
  • Water
  • An iron
  1. Step 1

Mix 5 drops of any color food coloring in 1 cup of water. Do the same for another color. Add as many colors that you wish to your groovy array of colors. Mix colors if you choose, or buy some of the new food colors that have more than the basic color. Once you're satisfied with the amount of color variety, it's time to go to the next step.

  2. Step 2

Cover the table with plastic cloth or garbage bags. This could get a little messy.

  3. Step 3

Layer about 6 sheets of white tissue paper together. Fold the paper in half, in half again and then in half one more time until it's quite compressed. Dip each of the corners into different colors. Lightly bring opposite corners together, keeping your finger in the middle to prevent bleed over. Dip the center in another color.

  4. Step 4

Dry your gift wrap on the plastic. Open the tissue and with a warm iron, and press flat. You now have your very own groovy psychedelic gift wrap.

Tips & Warnings
  • By changing the way you fold the paper, you can create many different designs. Get creative with this.
  • If you can unfold the paper without tearing it before it dries, do so. This will make flattening it easier.
