Craft shows are very popular events, especially around the holiday season. When an organization hosts a craft show, good management skills are essential to have a successful craft show. Communicate your plans and goals for the craft show to all participants such as craft show volunteers, crafters and other workers. Make sure you have the date and time secured at the location where you would like to have the craft show.

Organize the show by making sure all crafters who signed up for the show are properly placed in the location where the craft show will be held. Give each crafter instructions on how to arrive, set-up and tear down their booth at the craft show.

Set up tables at the show and talk frequently with all of the crafters and vendors during the show to assure they are satisfied in every way.

Collect a survey from the crafters before they leave to determine their feelings about the craft show and to see if they would like to return to future shows.

Keep good records of everything that was done before, during, and after the show so that the next show can follow the same successful patterns.

Tips & Warnings
Get as many volunteer helpers as possible.
Play music throughout the show or provide live entertainment.
Make good use of all the spaces. Fill in spaces that have missing crafters with decorations or other crafts. If a crafter decides not to attend, you can refund their money or give their space to someone else.
Charge an entry fee.
