Royal Casino is a card game for both adults and kids which helps you brush up on your math skills and makes you thinking strategically. Royal Casino is different from the regular card game of Casino in that the face cards are given point values and are used more in the game. Be forewarned, this game is addictive.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Deck of cards with Jokers removed
  • 2-to-4 players
  1. Step 1

Shuffle the cards. Deal two at a time to each player until all players have four cards. Place another four cards in the center of the table face up side-by-side. Dealer re-deals another set of four cards to players as they need them and replenishes the four on the table as well when they are taken so that there are always four cards on the table.

  2. Step 2

Understand the point values of the cards. Jacks are 11 points, Queens are 12, Kings are 13, and Aces can be worth either 1 or 14 points. All other cards are worth the number on the card.

  3. Step 3

Start the game if you are sitting to the left of the dealer. Selecting a face card from the table if you have a matching card in your hand. For example, if you have an 8 in your hand and there's an 8 on the table, you can take it to "make a trick" and if there is more than one 8 on the table you may take them all.

  4. Step 4

Take cards from the table that, when added together, equal the value of one of the cards in your hand to take a trick. For example, if you have a King in your hand (worth 13 points) and there are a 10 and a 3 on the table, you may take both the 10 and the 3 and add them to your King to take the trick. You may take three or even all the face up cards if they add up to one of your cards.

  5. Step 5

Build tricks on face-up cards on the table. For example, if you have a 3 and an 8 in your hand and there is a 5 face card on the table, you may place your 3 on the 5 overlapping it at the bottom and say, "Building 8," and then on your next turn, lay the 8 from your hand on the 3 and the 5 to take the trick. Be aware that if another player has an 8, they are free to place an 8 on your 3 and 5 and take it before you do.

  6. Step 6

Add one of your cards face up on the table next to the other face-up cards if you cannot take a trick.

  7. Step 7

End the game when players have no cards left in their hands. The player who took the last trick off the table will receive the remaining face-up cards which may contribute to their score.

  8. Step 8

Win the game by having the most points. Scoring is as follows: Player with the most cards receives 3 points; player with the most Spades gets 1 point; player in possession of the "Big Casino" (the 10 of Diamonds) gets 2 points; player in possession of the "Little Casino" (the 2 of Spades) gets 1 point; and each Ace will get you 1 point.

Tips & Warnings
  • If someone is building a trick, let's say with the 3 and the 5 and there is also an Ace on the table and you have a 9 card in your hand, you can take the built-up trick (8), add it to the Ace with a value of 1 and add these cards to your 9 to take the trick.
  • When building tricks, you must only build a card value that you already possess and you must take the trick on the following turn after laying the card to build the trick (if someone hasn't already taken it).
