A roadster, also known as a hot rod, is a classic vehicle. This two-seater has an open top, and it's been in production since the first vehicles were made. If you find yourself in possession of a classic roadster, consider yourself lucky. These cars can be priceless. But sometimes, you have to rebuild your roadster to get it ready for the road.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Examine your vehicle. Look over every inch of your car and determine what parts are rusted or worn out. Make a list of parts that need to be replaced.
Step2
Make a plan. Before you get to work, plan every aspect of the changes you plan to make to your roadster.
Step3
Purchase your materials. You can look at your local auto parts store, or you might be able to save some money by checking out your local salvage yard.
Step4
Check the frame. This part of the vehicle is critical, because it sets the groundwork for the rest of your work. Now is the time to make any necessary repairs.
Step5
Repair the body. From rust spots to dents and scratches, bring your roadster back to its glory days.
Step6
Get under the hood. Replace old and worn out wires and parts. This is also a good time to upgrade the engine.
Step7
Paint. A new coat of paint can turn your roadster into a head-turner.
Step8
Upgrade the interior. Add air conditioning, or upgrade to leather seats. This is a great opportunity to give your roadster all the 21st century amenities you can't drive without.
