1
Learn to draw people before you attempt to draw Jesus. You should be able to draw a basic human figure and a male face. Additionally, you will need to be able to draw expressions on a human face to capture an expression that you believe Jesus would wear.
-
2
Choose the overall look and ethnicity of Jesus. Some draw Jesus as very thin, while others give him a heavier body type. Some believe that Jesus was a light-skinned man with blue eyes and straight hair. Others see him as a dark-skinned man with curly hair.
-
3
Determine whether you are drawing Jesus before persecution, during persecution, on the cross or after he has risen. Even if you just draw a portrait, knowing this information will help you decide what he should look like.
-
4
Decide upon the location of your drawing, or any props, clothing, iconography, or other characters that should appear. Alternately, you may just want to draw a portrait of Jesus.
-
5
Select the pose for Jesus. For a strong portrayal, make the pose convey an emotion or attribute of Jesus.
-
6
Hire an art model that resembles your vision of Jesus for the best results. Pose him with any costumes or props and draw. You may also want to take reference photos to capture the expression you want to draw on Jesus.

Tips & Warnings
Don't worry if your Jesus doesn't look like other portrayals. However, realize that if you don't present a culturally-recognized view of Jesus, some might not recognize your drawing as Jesus.
You can draw Jesus without a model if you are skilled at drawing people, but using a model will give you more realistic and accurate results.

I wouldn't worry about drawing Jesus in the physical. I would try to draw his spirit by imitating Him. If you receive the Holy Spirit and imitate Him - He will be far more flattered. Afterall, after He rose again on the 3rd day - no one recognized Him as He was. That tells me that He transformed. You will have to recognize Him in the Spirit to truly see Him. Then, you will see Him as God does. -
