VTrain is software that is being used to teach students, adults and children, virtually anyone who wants to learn a foreign language. This software uses computer flashcards as a way to teach vocabulary and keeps track of the words or cards that you are having problems with. It has now expanded into other subjects and can be a great review before tests and refreshers before vacations to foreign countries. Read on to learn how to use VTrain software.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Download a copy of VTrain software from the Internet to try the software before you buy it. The trial version allows you to use the entire program without paying for it to see if you like it and if it will benefit you. This is a step you can omit if you have already used the program and have decided that you like it.
Step2
Add decks to the program from the VTrain website. Decks are located on the left hand side of your screen and contain anything that you wish to download to them. Languages can be chosen when you go to the VTrain website.
Step3
Create new decks yourself by clicking the "File" option at the top of the screen, then select "New Deck" and a "Compose" window will pop up. Hit "Cancel" when the "Properties" box appears or enter any information you wish to change on the tabs. Remember you will need to have a mic to record words that you wish to add to the deck.
Step4
Type the question you wish to along with the words you have added on the left hand side of the pane. Enter the answer on the right side and hit "Enter" in to input the answer. Click "File" and "Save" when you are done creating your deck. Close the deck by choosing "File" and "Close."
Step5
Respond to the cards by typing in what you think the correct answer is in the box. On the screen is a window that has other letters and characters your keyboard may not have. Use your mouse to insert the letters into your answer.
Step6
Check your answers by clicking the "Blue Equal Sign and Question Mark" button to compare your answer to VTrains. VTrain will tell you whether your answer is correct in the upper right hand box. The "Green Check" button skips a card if you already know it and the "Red Minus" button skips the current card if you have no idea what it is.
Step7
Listen to the word or phrase by clicking the green arrow "Play" button in the "Answer" box to hear the correct pronunciation. Listening to the foreign language can help learn your lessons quicker.
Step8
Click the "Recycle" button to go through the cards quickly if you have learned the card already, and click the "Keyhole" button to hear and see the answer to the card and also some synonyms.
