Getting Dressed

1. Remove any manly body hair before any clothing goes on. Wax is most effective method, but it is also the most painful. Special attention must be paid to the legs, underarms, chest, back and face.
2. Find a comfortable and effective gaff. A gaff is a special undergarment that is best compared to an athletic supporter. Its purpose is to disguise manly bulges in the crotch area.
3. Put on a bra that will allow enough room for silicone breast forms. Breast forms can be found at most lingerie shops and simply slip inside the bra cup. Adjust the straps so that the bra provides ample support yet remains relatively comfortable on the shoulders.
4. Consider wearing a girdle or corset, something that will cinch the waist and add a womanly curve to your shape. If choosing the corset, be sure to employ some help for the tying process, for it is almost impossible to tie alone correctly. Comfort and breathing levels will be dropped considerably.
5. Choose a nice set of stockings. Not only are they sexier than pantyhose, they are also more comfortable and much easier to put on. If the stockings are not designed to stay up on their own, a garter belt will be needed.
6. Put on your chosen outfit, once all of the under-things are tied, laced, and snapped. Try to shy away from overly-tight ensembles, as they are sure to hug seams and give away some of the secrets underneath.

Finishing Touches

7. Complete the outfit with the perfect pair of shoes. As most women will tell you, shoes are the most important factor, the thing that ties the entire look together. Unless you have small feet, you will most likely have to consult specialty stores that sell women's clothing items in sizes for men. Most of these places carry heels and boots in sizes up to men's 17.
8. Spend some time practicing your walk in the shoes, especially if you are wearing heels. After all, there are real women out there who haven't gotten the hang of heels yet, so it's likely you will need more time than usual.
9. Apply makeup that is not over-exaggerated. Remember: over-the-top makeup is the hallmark of drag queens. If you are looking to pass as a woman, you will want to scale back on the dramatics. If possible, have a female friend give you a hand.
10. Top off the transformation with a wig of your choosing. When purchasing the wig, be sure to also buy a wig cap to put on beforehand.
