Step 1
Research your audience before you start writing your e-book. You need to find out who your readers are, and why they would read your book. You also need to know if this is the first book published on this subject. If there are similar books, you need to find out how well they did in the market and if any improvements are needed.
-
Step 2
Resolve an issue. Your e-book must present a problem and follow with a solution. Your target audience needs your help, so help them with solid solutions. Just offering statistics or general comments isn't helpful it might be inspirational and in the book, but workable solutions are what sells the book. Possible titles include "Build a Career in Film," "Handle Your Credit Problem," "Start a New Business" and "Lose Weight with a High Alkaline Diet."

Step 3
Learn from the best. Read e-books that are hot sellers. Critique them and discover why they are the best. Make notes as you read, jotting down positive and negative aspects. Figure out what the writer could have improved or what stood out the most. Take a look at the graphics and decide if they were effective or if the graphics enhanced the overall presentation.

Step 4
Promise and deliver it. Whatever you tell your readers about the book, deliver it. If you don't deliver what is promised, the reader will not like your book and will not recommend your book to others, and your sales fall flat. Deliver beyond your readers expectations and you will have a word-of-mouth campaign that turns your e-book into a bestseller.
