Step 1
Use a sod cutter to remove your old lawn. Get out as many weeds and roots as you can and prepare the yard to be as flat as possible.
-
Step 2
Put down a layer granite to provide a surface upon which to lay the new lawn. Smooth this surface to reduce bumps and dips. Fill in any areas with additional gravel to make a smooth surface.
-
Step 3
Enlist the help of another person to help you carry the large rolls that it comes in to the edge of the yard. Then roll out the lawn as if it were a carpet.
-
Step 4
Tap it into place until is sits flush with the edge of the yard. You can do this by walking on it. You do not have to pound it as the backing on the roll of synthetic grass is made to adhere to your gravel base.
-
Step 5
Lay each roll closely to the next to reduce maintenance on the seams. Then anchor each roll with pins provided by the manufacturer when you purchase your lawn.
-
Step 6
Place the anchors tightly in the corners. Use seam tape under each edge before laying the next roll if your lawn is heavily used for running or other sports.

on 11/1/2009 I do not recommenD Synthetic Turf. They required me to use the services of their trained Distributor, Aaron Hernandez. He proved to me that he could not do the job properly by doing things such as gluing mismatched nap together, and cutting too much away exposing dirt where weeds could grow, not to mention not showing up when he said he would. I sent in photos to Synthetic Turf. They agreed the job was not being done right, but they would do nothing since they said their Agreement was only with him. I feel this is deceptive and I have spent $15000 and they won't make this job right. Because of them I ended up using him. Beware.
