How to Find OSHA Regulations

Regardless of what type of business you are in, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires all employers to uphold OSHA standards. To find out if your business is in compliance, or to find a new OSHA regulation, simply follow the instructions below.

Step1
Go to the OSHA home page (see Resources below).
Step2
Perform a search for a specific regulation by scrolling down the right–hand menu and clicking on the "Laws & Regulations" link. Or type the OSHA regulation into the top Search box and press "Go." If you are starting a new business, or are not sure which OSHA regulations apply to your business, then scroll down the right-hand menu and click on the "Compliance Assistance" link.

Review information and related links. Click on the "Compliance Assistance Quick Start" link under the "Quick Start" section.
Step4
Read the information pertaining to each of the sections. Select the link which best applies to your business or industry.
Step5
Ensure that you follow the steps and instructions provided by the OSHA website for your specific industry or business.
Step6
Check to see if you belong to a state with an OSHA approved state program. Return to the "Compliance Assistance Quick Start" section by pressing the "Back" button on your browser.
Step7
Scroll down to the highlighted "OSHA approved state program" link and click. Check if your state is listed under the "Quick Links" section. To select a state click on the state name and follow website prompts to locate regulations and information.
Step8
Take advantage of the free on-site consultation program. Scroll down the right-hand menu and select the "Consultation" link under the "Cooperative Programs" section. Review the program information and follow instructions to schedule a consultation. Avoid being fined; get started today.
