You just bought your digital camera and took your first pictures. Now you have to get your pictures off your camera and into your computer. This is not always as easy, but digital camera connection problems are usually easy to resolve.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Connect the digital camera to the computer, if you haven't already done so. Use the cable that came with the camera. Make sure the camera is on and that your computer and monitor are on as well.
Step2
Install the driver that came with your camera by inserting the CD-ROM into the disk drive. Then follow the on-screen instructions. Make sure to use the driver for your camera.
Step3
Check to make sure the cable has a firm connection to the USB port. Try using a different USB port, if the camera still doesn't respond. USB ports may be causing problems with the digital camera signal.
Step4
Find the pictures by checking the memory card in the camera. Make sure the camera is on the setting for the memory card that has the pictures. If you have more than one memory card in the camera, remove the extra card.
Step5
Plug the digital camera into the wall outlet using the power cord that came with it, if the digital camera is still not working. The batteries in the camera may be dead, or there's just not enough power to download the pictures.

Tips & Warnings

  • The batteries can die at any time, so always keep fresh ones available for your camera.
