How to Make a Tin Can Pipe

If you smoke loose pipe tobacco, you know how frustrating it can be to be stuck without the proper smoking utensil. A tin can pipe can serve this purpose, quickly, in your time of need and desperation, and you'll be happily smoking in no time.

Instructions

Empty the tin can and rinse it out if possible. Turn the can upside down so that the opening rests on the ground and push gently to create a small dent. This dent will become the "bowl" of the pipe and will prevent the smoking material from rolling off.

Make a screen with your sharp object, preferably an awl or small nail, however almost anything sharp will work. Poke a few holes in the center of the "bowl" that you just created. Be sure to keep the holes small so that the smoking material does not fall into the inside of the tin can.

    • 3

Cut a small round hole into the side of the tin can, which you will use as a carb. The hole should be large enough to be useful, but small enough that you can easily cover it with your thumb. Be sure to smooth any sharp edges to prevent cuts on your finger.

Place the tobacco in the "bowl" of your tin can pipe. Hold your thumb over the carb and light the tobacco, sucking through the opening of the tin can. When you have inhaled enough smoke, release the carb to clear the tin can pipe.

      Recycle the can.
