If you are a loose tobacco smoker, you know how frustrating it can be to find yourself without the proper smoking utensil. A simple apple pipe is fast and effective, and leaves you with a sweet, healthy snack after your smoke.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Apple
  • Sharp knife
  • Ballpoint pen
  • Piece of foil or aluminum can

Step1
Core out the apple carefully, cutting out only the seeds. Make sure you leave about a half of an inch of the bottom of the apple. It's best to use a slender knife so that the core of the apple isn't too big.
Step2
Make the carb of your apple pipe by first removing the ink filled tube from the center of the pen. Stick the outer shaft of the pen into one side of the apple until it reaches the cored center. Remove the pen and blow out any apple pieces that have become stuck inside.
Step3
Insert the pen at a slight angle into the opposite side of the apple until it reaches the cored center. This will make the mouthpiece of your apple pipe. Again, remove the pen and blow out any chunks of apple in the shaft, and insert once again.
Step4
Cut a piece of aluminum foil or a piece of a soda can to the size of a silver dollar to make the apple pipe screen. Poke a few small holes in the center of the aluminum. Be sure the holes are not so big that the smoking material will fall through the holes. Stick the foil screen into the top of the cored center.
Step5
Place your smoking material onto the aluminum screen and light it up. Hold your thumb over the hole made with the pen shaft, and suck through the pen on the opposite side. When you have finished smoking, remove the pen shaft and screen and eat the apple. Yum.
