1
Look up images of Edward Scissorhands online. Finding a good picture of his face will make applying makeup easier and getting details right.

2
Purchase a black wig. A pageboy cut is ideal. Just put it on and backcomb the hair to help it stand up. Spray with liberal amounts of hairspray to help hold it in place. Cut any hair that is too long on top, using photos as a guide.

Assemble the outfit. Edward wore 2 costumes, a black leather suit covered with buckles and a white dress shirt and gray pants. The second look is much easier to achieve. To make the black outfit, get a black turtleneck and black leather pants. Fasten black belts at the desired location, again following a photograph for reference. These may need to be sewn into place to keep from slipping. For the second outfit, a black turtleneck is still needed to be worn under a white button down shirt. Cut the white shirt in several places to allow for the undershirt to show through. Gray men's dress pants will do for the bottom.

4
Cut a pair of black suspenders. Reattach them with safety pins and attach to the pants.

5
Use pale makeup for the face. Be sure to cover the lips as well. A purplish-gray eye shadow works well for the eyes. To make easy scars, use white eyeliner and gray eyeliner. Place these lines side-by-side to create a shadow and highlight. This will give the illusion of scars. Make an Edward-pouting mouth by applying dark reddish-black lipstick.

Take black gloves to make the scissor hands. Use foam core board, available in any crafts store, to create the scissors. Cut long scissor blade shapes out with an Exacto knife. Paint them with silver spray paint. Attach to the gloves with hot glue. Stuff the fingers with plastic wrap to keep the fingers from sticking together.

Finish the look with black boots.
