A bidet is a separate, toilet-height sink and sprayer used for washing intimate body parts after using the toilet. Use either the sprayer feature or fill the small tub for a soak. It's important to keep a bidet cleaner than a toilet bowl. Use the following instructions to ensure a clean bidet and germ-free post-toilet spritz.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Use a regular disinfectant toilet bowl cleaner on your bidet 2 times or more per week.
Step2
Squirt toilet bowl cleaner into the bidet and let stand for a minute. Swish a sponge or toilet brush around and flush.
Step3
Wipe the exterior surfaces with a sponge and surface cleaner. Use white vinegar mixed with water for a natural, homemade cleaner.
Step4
Regularly clean any metal faucet fixtures with a damp cloth.
Step5
Clean the faucet's sprayer (if installed) with a course sponge and surface cleaner.
Step6
Every month, or more frequently, deep clean the bidet by leaving the cleaner on the inside of the bidet bowl for 10 to 15 minutes. Scrub gently and flush.

Tips & Warnings

  • An attachment-style bidet sprays over a normal toilet using the toilet's plumbing. Clean the sprayer with a course sponge.
  • Regular and frequent cleanings make the monthly deep cleaning easier and quicker.
  • Test all cleaning products on a small, hidden area of your bidet surface prior to use.
