Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Consult your doctor to see what methods of treatment are advisable for your condition. Interventions include prescribed medications, iontopheresis, Botox injections and surgical procedures.
Step2
Look for products targeting your problem. Certain ointments and salves are made especially for hyperhidrosis and may be found online at numerous sites. Check out sweat-shops.com and stopsweatyhands.net for products targeting excessive sweating.
Step3
Shower with antibacterial soap and use antiperspirants regularly to prevent unpleasant odors caused by excessive axillary (armpit) sweat.
Step4
Change and rotate your shoes frequently, use foot powders and wear removable soles to decrease the chance of foot odor.
Step5
Stop hand sweat by having a tissue or towel available, clapping your hands with corn starch and/or using salt-based antiperspirants (made for hands).
Step6
Dress appropriately. Avoid thin cotton, fabrics and layer your clothing to absorb excess perspiration. Wear jackets, sweaters or polyester blends to help mask the sweat.
Step7
Learn to deal with anxiety. When faced with a stressful situation, try to find techniques that help you to remain calm. Guided imagery, creative visualization and progressive relaxation are just a few methods that could decrease the occurrence of hyperhidrosis.

on 2/12/2008 I believe that point 7 is one of the most important. Although anxiety is not typically the cause of excessive sweating, it definitely worsens the condition.
