The savings you create from that may give you the money you need to get that prime location. You can also consider a loan to help you with the expense of starting up your gift shop.
Step5
Learn basic bookkeeping. You need to be able to keep accurate records for you gift shop for tax purposes as well as knowing how you are doing financially every day.
Step6
Decide on the hours for your gift shop and whether you can afford to hire help. It may be best at the beginning not to have hired help, because this money could be better spent on inventory. This may mean shorter hours for your shop and longer hours for yourself, but if you choose the right hours, you can still be very successful.
