Lines of people dancing in sync is fast becoming one of the most popular ways to dance. No longer limited to cowboy bars, it's easier than ever to see the masters and the amateurs alike strutting their stuff. If you have an interest in line dancing but feel happier watching from the sidelines, there are many ways you can enjoy this pastime without moving a muscle.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Have a night out. Check local area guides for line dancing themed clubs or events. In certain parts of the country, western bars are very popular and often have a variety of dance nights that you can try. Some places even have demonstration evenings where you can see line dancing.

  2. Step 2

Be a cowboy. Although many line dances have nothing to do with hats and spurs, many southern and mid western states are still among the best places to go and experience them. Check the Internet for exclusive line dancing venues.

  3. Step 3

Watch the professionals. There are groups and traveling shows that perform at clubs and theaters around the country. Seeing experts perform dances will be a very different experience from watching amateurs in local bars. Also, some classes may allow you to observe with a view to joining.

  4. Step 4

Put your feet up. The easiest and laziest way to see line dancing is from the comfort of your own home. Travel programs or country and western channels often show line dancing and cover dance festivals all over the country.

  5. Step 5

Watch the web. To get some basic ideas on line dancing, the Internet offers many options. Videos or pod casts that are in the public domain have professional shows, simple lessons and the usual bloopers.
