Step 1
Click the software program icon. It is usually located at the bottom right of your task bar. You can move your mouse over the icons to see which one it is. If you cannot find the icon, click "Start" at the bottom left of your screen.

Slide to "All Programs." Find your virus protection program. Click the icon to open the program.

Look for a button or tab that indicates updates. It is often called updates or live updates. Click this button.

Choose automatic when you install your virus protection software so that the computer program will update itself each day at a designated time. Use the above method for extra scans or if your computer wasn't on at the designated time.
