Foot odor is an embarrassing problem that many people suffer from. As soon as a person with foot odor takes off his shoes, everyone around him wrinkles their noses in disgust. If you suffer from foot odor, here's how to disguise the foul smell.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Change your shoes. Since foot odor is often enhanced by smelly shoes, one way to disguise it is to change into a new pair. The odor is likely to be less persistent. Open shoes are better at hiding foot odor.

  2. Step 2

Pour some baking soda into your socks or shoes. Baking soda neutralizes smells and also dries up any sweat that may be causing the odor.

  3. Step 3

Use an over the counter foot powder. These powders are sprinkled in your shoes and onto your feet. They help dry the feet as well as disguise any type of foot odor. Dr. Scholl's makes a particularly effective foot powder.

  4. Step 4

Spray an antiperspirant on your feet. The scent of the antiperspirant will mask the odor while also preventing the feet from sweating so much.

  5. Step 5

Try a home remedy. Ginger mashed up and mixed with hot water, then placed on your feet will help disguise foot odor. Radishes can be used if you don't have ginger available.

Tips & Warnings
  • Although you can temporarily disguise foot odor, you should find a way to permanently get rid of the problem. Try wearing cotton socks and soaking your feet at night in a salt solution to treat foot odor.
  • If you can't find a home remedy to relieve your foot odor, speak to a physician about other methods that you can try.
