Everyone has had a zipper fall off at one point or another. It is one of those tiny nuisances that happens from time to time. If you follow these simple steps, you will not have to get rid of your favorite pair of pants just because of something as easily fixed as a broken zipper. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Place your pants on a flat surface and line up the sides of the zipper as best you can. You may wish to use a flat table, kitchen counter or an ironing board to fix your pants. Try to get the sides of your zipper to match up as closely as possible.
Step2
Gently ease one side of the zipper onto the slider until you can force it no further.
Step3
Ease it up the zipper with a pair of pliers, and the zipper should be almost completely attached on one side. Line up each notch in the zipper. You want it to attach perfectly, as this is your chance to get it right.
Step4
Check to see if the zipper will attach itself by sliding it up and down. If not, slide the zipper as close to the end where you would begin to zipper up as possible.
Step5
Grasp both the inner and outer parts of the slider with the pliers and pull down until the other side snaps back into place. Take your time and be patient with this step. It can be frustrating if it doesn't go into place immediately.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be very careful with the plies as pulling or clamping too hard will result in mutilating the zipper beyond repair.
