People are busier now than ever. Cell phones, the Internet, and Blackberries have all contributed to more hectic schedules. As a result, ask yourself if you're working twice as hard but still getting the same results. If you are, here are a few steps to follow to become more productive.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Analyze how your time is spent. Write down what you are working on for a period of a week; you'll get a better idea as to what needs to change.
Step2
Delegate things on your list to someone else. Get help if the copy machine jams. Give your assistant more responsibility. Assign chores to the kids.
Step3
Find your compliment. For example, if you're an artist who loves spending time being creative but does not enjoy marketing your art, find someone who enjoys marketing. That person will promote your artwork while you spend your time doing what you love. It's a win-win situation then.
Step4
Spend more time on your primary responsibilities. Manage accounts or get in the field and sell. Have sales support take the calls and collate brochures. Write your novel and leave the marketing to your publisher.
Step5
Look for ways to be more productive. Don't fall into the trap of doing something in a particular fashion because its always been done a certain way.
Step6
Help someone else when you do have extra time. Offer your services to someone in need, and you'll be amazed at how it will be reciprocated.
