Step 1
Pick your camping location. There are campgrounds scattered throughout the country that you can use for your trip. You should base your selection on the climate of the area and what facilities are available at the campground.
-
Step 2
Print out a map of the area so you can familiarize yourself with the area before your camping trip.
-
Step 3
Make a list of items that you need to bring. Be sure to include clothing, toiletries, sunscreen, bug spray, food and sleeping gear.
-
Step 4
Check off the items on your list while you are loading up your vehicle. This ensures that you don't forget anything.
-
Step 5
Decide on your sleeping arrangements for the trip. You can camp in a tent, use an RV, or rent a cabin.
-
Step 6
Bring a cell phone in case of an emergency. This is especially important if you plan to camp alone.

on 6/5/2009 I'm trying to understand what you are attempting to convey to your readers. This is an extremely rough outline, at best. You have to take into consideration climate. As a veteran of the Mojave desert, it's not enough to say, "bring clothing," is it? Which kind? Surely more direct advice can be built into such an article. I don't say this out of mean-spiritedness, but because camping, especially for the unfamiliar, can be not only daunting, but deadly if they are not truly prepared. So I interpret this as a very, very loose template.

on 6/2/2009 I love to go camping too! Sitting around the fire, having withdrawal from no electroices, looking at the stars and chatting with the family. It really does bring a family closer.
