Come up with a game plan. Before you begin constructing your photo quilt, you have to decide on a theme and a design. You can do a heritage quilt and include antique photos, or maybe a graduation quilt with pictures from each year of the graduate's life. This is the stage that you decide on a color scheme as well.

2
Choose and prepare your pictures. You'll need to download your photos to your computer using a USB cable or scanner, then edit them to work in the space needed. Correct any blemishes, and then resize all photos to the same size and resolution. Typically the squares are six to 12 inches. When you've successfully edited each photo, print them out onto fabric sheets.

Cut out each photo, trimming off any excess fabric from the edges. This is also the best time to prepare your other fabric squares, which you'll alternate between each photo square. Choose a pattern and design that complement your theme and photos.

4
Assemble the quilt. Using your sewing machine, stitch together your quilt top like you would any other.
