How to Enjoy a NASCAR Race at Bristol Motor Speedway

Since it was opened in 1961 the Bristol Motor Speedway has been a source of pride to the people of Northeastern Tennessee and a source of racing excitement for race fans all over the world. Here are some suggestions to help you on your trip to this exciting and historic raceway.

1. Get tickets online or directly from the Speedway by calling the ticket office. NASCAR events are very popular so plan ahead and order your tickets early.
2. Find lodgings in the Bristol area by contacting the tracks information office. Be sure to ask about package deals for NASCAR weekends that include stays at local accommodations and entry to the track.
3. Arrive at the track early and tour the facilities to get an idea about the historical significance of the facility. You might even get a chance to meet some NASCAR legends up close.
4. Check out the excitement from the grandstands or get an infield pass and check out the excitement from the pit.
5. Dress comfortably, keeping in mind that Tennessee gets hot during NASCAR season and the races can take all day so remember to bring your sunscreen
