Fantasy football is a game in which weekly NFL stats are used to simulate a football-like competition between multiple people. Being commissioner of a fantasy football league isn't difficult if you know the right steps to take. By following these instructions, you'll be well on your way to learning everything there is to know about being fantasy football commissioner.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Find players to be in your fantasy football league. Most leagues play with 8, 10, 12 or 14 teams. For each team, you'll need a person dedicated to being the team's owner. Fantasy football is a very popular game so you should be able to find many willing owners by contacting family, friends and co-workers. If you find interested potential team owners who are new to the game, you can point them to the Sporting News website for a fantasy football tutorial.
Step2
Decide on the league settings and rules. Fantasy football can be played with many different regulations, so you'll have to customize your league to fit the wishes of the owners in your league. The best way to decide on the settings and rules is to have a league-wide vote for each setting and rule. By doing that, you give each player in the league an opportunity to voice their opinion.
Step3
Pick a league-hosting software. If you want free hosting software, you can find free options on the Yahoo!, AOL and the FoxSports websites. However, if you want a more customizable option, consider the MyFantasyLeague software. The MyFantasyLeague software is highly customizable and gives fantasy football commissioners complete control over all aspects.
Step4
Conduct your fantasy football draft. You can opt to hold your fantasy football draft online or in person. Either way, you should coordinate with the team owners to find a time that suits everyone. Once the draft is complete, you will be ready to start the season.
