As with learning anything, there are many sources of information. Choose the sources that are easily available to you and put in a bit of hard work. Your efforts will be rewarding whether they are in a library, online through the Internet, or actually going out and talking to students and teachers. As with many ancient forms of martial arts, there are many different beliefs as to the origins and history of Wing Chun.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Go to the local library and find a few books on Wing Chun.
Step2
Read these books and pay special attention to the historical aspects and accounts. One famous teacher and student of Wing Chun was Bruce Lee. Search for books about his life and philosophy, which were very heavily influenced by his martial arts. Another name for Wing Chun is Kung Fu, or more specifically a style or form of Kung Fu. The particular form is one historically taught by Shoalin monks.
Step3
Search on your computer for Wing Chun, Bruce Lee and other names discovered from your reading in the books obtained at your local library. There are also forums dedicated to Wing Chun.
Step4
Find a school of Wing Chun and ask the instructor about the history of Wing Chun. While this method may be the most difficult one, it is often times the most informative way to learn about the history of Wing Chun.
