How to Make a Giant Bubble Wand

A giant bubble wand is a big hit with kids and works on the same principle as the smaller, store-bought versions. This wand is simple and quick to make.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Bend a wire clothes hanger into a circle; for large bubbles, the more perfect the circle, the better it works.

  2. Step 2

Twist the hook opposite the circle to form a handle.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the handle with electrical tape, taking special care to cover the wire's two sharp ends with tape.

  4. Step 4

Wrap the circle with cotton twine to absorb more soap mixture so you can make bigger bubbles.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use floral wire to make smaller wands with interesting shapes.
  • Remember that you're going to need a larger tub of bubble mix to accommodate the larger wand.

on 11/22/2005 When using large rounds to make bubbles, it's sometimes hard to make them leave the round without bursting. So here's a trick: lift the round from your tray of bubble juice, draw it smoothly to fill with air, then make a gentle chopping motion to complete the bubble sphere and permit the bubble to fly free of the round.
