Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Invitations
- Addresses
- Maps
Step1
Decide how many people will be invited to the knitting party. This number will vary depending on the size of the party location.
Step2
Determine the date, time and location of the knitting party, keeping in mind the amount of time you will need to do a project. Gather together all the addresses and phone numbers of those who will be invited.
Step3
Shop around for invitations that have space for all of your knitting party information. Homemade invitations can also be made for little money. Include a map or directions to the party for those who are unfamiliar with the area.
Step4
Send invitations. Do this at least 2 1/2 to 3 weeks prior to the party; this leaves plenty of time for people to respond, or R.S.V.P. Make follow up calls one week before the event to those who did not respond.
Step5
Ask invitees to bring along any items they're willing to share or trade with other guests, including needles, yarn, patterns or other reference materials for your guests.
Step6
Suggest a theme for guests to work on together. For example, have knitters create beautiful scarves that the group can later distribute to a battered women's shelter or snuggly blankets to be donated to an orphanage.
