Almost everyone today is trying to lose weight, and one way to do this is by increasing your metabolism. There is no magic to this concept. Using these steps consistently will help you increase your metabolism and help you lose weight.

From Quick Guide: Rev Up Your Metabolism
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Healthy food
  • Snacks
  1. Step 1

Eat breakfast. It can be any type of food, but try to keep it healthy with a balance of protein, carbohydrates and fat.

  2. Step 2

Consume enough food for your body size. Not eating enough food to sustain your body in your daily activities causes your metabolism to slow.

  3. Step 3

Break meals into 4 to 6 small, healthy portions with 2 to 3 snacks a day. Eating consistently every couple hours throughout the day helps increase metabolism.

  4. Step 4

Balance your meals with a healthy choice of fruits and vegetables, grains, dairy and protein.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to eat enough. Eating less food can reduce your metabolism.
  • Keep snacks handy at all times so that you don't have to go more then five hours without eating. This prevents you from choosing unhealthy snacks.
  • If you are being consistent in following these steps and are still not seeing results, ask your doctor about having your thyroid tested. And imbalance could cause your body's metabolism to increase or decrease unnaturally.
