Learn to Follow Formula One Racers

Step1
Follow the progress of a Formula One racer by scouting exceptional drivers in other categories of racing, such as karts and stock cars. The career path of a successful Formula One racer usually starts off with one of these other types of racing formats. The thrill of watching someone stand out on his way to Formula One can be thrilling and rewarding.
Step2
Subscribe to Formula One racing magazines, such as "F1 Racing" and "Autosport," which are available at most bookstores and newsstands. These publications offer in-depth articles about Formula One racers. There are also many books available from the same sources on Formula One racers.
Step3
Attend as many of the Grand Prix races as possible, either in person or on television. This may give you more insight as to the racing strategies employed by most Formula One racers, since you will be able to observe them for yourself.
Step4
Compare team and driver statistics during the Formula One season by checking in the racing magazines, as well as the official Formula One website (see Resources below). You will be able to follow the progress and points of each driver and team, learning who has the best chance of making it to the championship at the end of the season.
Step5
Check out the official Formula One website for specific drivers and teams by using links provided on the official Formula One website. You can click on the links for Team Ferrari, for instance, and get pertinent information on each one of the current drivers, including current rankings, wins and vital statistics.

Tips & Warnings

  • It is a tradition, in Formula One racing, to follow the teams and drivers you dislike as much as the ones you like. This "villains and heroes" mentality permeates much of the racing world.
