This document is about managing your web-development-related tasks effectively in a simple and straightforward way your client will love. This document presents a simple case study you encounter in your day to day work life. You can compare the old-fashioned way of managing tasks with the new Web 2.0 approach.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Taskee

Step1
Let’s roll with a case study…

Your client is testing a website you built for him and found a bug

The old-fashioned way
How would he let you know about the bug?

Email? Using a hosted bug-tracking application? Or using a task management software? All these options require copying and pasting the URL he found the bug at and maybe take a screenshot of the bug. Then you as a web designer need to go to your email, bug tracking or task-management software, fix the bug, and let your client know that it’s been fixed. Do you think these options are fine? Read further…
Step2
Taskee way
With Taskee there is no need to take screenshots or copy URL with the bug, because you use Taskee directly on your tested website. Client just opens the Taskee directly on the website and is immediately assigning a new task for you. Your client doesn’t need to be a super techie to use Taskee!

Each task is specific for a particular URL so there’s no need to paste any URL into the task. You are notified about new tasks by email. Opening the Taskee in a tested project takes you to all tasks neatly organized by URL. There is no need to do a snapshot or copy a link anymore. Just browse the website URLs and see the related tasks. How cool is that?

That’s not it. You can comment on any task and clarify or ask for more details right there on the website. You can easily navigate through all the URLs with bugs and never leave Taskee. If you fix the bug just change the status of the task to done. All your tasks are at one place, nicely organized so you always know what you have to do. You don’t need to worry about task management or communication problems anymore. It can’t get any easier than that!
