The visually impaired man who wishes to date a sighted woman will encounter much difficulty. You will have to contend with logistical problems, her perceptions, and those of her friends and family. Here are some suggestions on how you can do this.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging
Step1
Firstly you will need to look inward. You must have a true confidence. Women will see past anything less. Furthermore, you cannot expect a woman to respect you as a man, unless you first respect yourself. This sounds cliché but it is true.
Step2
Ok now to the next stage. Now you must plan. This is important for all guys, but for those of us with low or no vision it is everything. Before you ask a woman out, have several date options. Have them planned and memorized. Know how you will get there, and exactly what to do and where to go when you are there. Be able to act without hesitation. She will not doubt you after she sees you in action.
Step3
Now comes the asking; if you can ask in person, if not give her a call. Whatever you do be bold. Again this is true for all guys, but for the disabled even more so. You will have to counter the stereotypes. You will have to prove your competence before it can be questioned.

Tips & Warnings

  • It helps to have a sighted female friend school you on fashion, presentation, mannerisms and the like. It is also helpful to have her give you a bit of insight into the female mind. You will be shot down. It happens to everyone. Never give up.
