How to Deodorize Shoes!

Shoe odor can be embarrassing and is totally unnecessary. This helpful hint can freshen shoes and even be used as a gift!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Pair of socks
  • Dried herbs and spices
  • Ribbon

Step1
Take a new pair of socks and fill each with a mixture of dried herbs and spices.
Step2
Spice mixture can be any or all of the following. Use a mixture that is pleasing to your senses.
Suggestions:
Rosemary
Bay leaves
Cinnamon sticks
Whole cloves
Orange peel
Lemon peel
Thyme
Lavender
Pine needles
Step3
Mix enough spices to loosely fill both socks! Securely tie the socks closed with a ribbon.
Step4
Place the herb filled socks in the offending shoes when not being worn. If the shoes are very offensive, place them in a plastic bag until the herbs have time to penetrate the odor.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure that you are not allergic to any spices that you have placed in your sock deodorizers!
