If you have ever experienced a painful cramp in your calves(and if you haven't you're probably younger than I )here is a super-simple method that absolutely works like a charm. How or why it works I'll let others decide.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
The moment you feel your calf muscle cramping, pinch both sides of the channel beneath your nostrils(technically called the philtrum)between your thumb and index finger.
Step2
Using a firm grip (not too firm)alternately squeeze and slightly twist untill you feel the cramp easing. When you get the right spot there will be no doubt,as the cramp will disappear like a bad dream.
Step3
Step three you're good as new.Go on about your business like nothing ever happened!

Tips & Warnings

  • In case you don't know what the philtrum is(a big word for a tiny thing)it is the medical term for the two-sided groove between your nose and upper lip.
  • The reason I put "accupressure" in quotes in my title is that I don't want anyone to assume that I buy into all (for that matter, any)of the claims made by practicioners of the ancient art of acupuncture. While I retain an open mind about such matters, the ONLY thing I'm vouching for is the efficacy of the method outlined above. This does work.TRY IT.

on 6/2/2008 IT WORKED! I saw and printed out your article a few days ago and - to be honest - I was not too confident that it would work. But to my incredible relief it worked yesterday. We were peacefully sitting and watching a movie and all of sudden I had a terrible leg-cramp, I jumped off the couch like crazy and followed the suggestions in this articles. And I could not believe it, it was away in a few seconds!!! I cannot tell you how happy I am about this because I had such leg-cramps now for ten years, more or less frequently and at any day- or night-time. Magnesium, which the doctor gave me for it, did not help. This helps. THANK YOU!!

on 3/4/2008 Thank you for this. One way to avoid leg cramps is to drink more water. Also, take magnesium and potassium.
