hiccups are is a gulping sound caused by sudden movement of muscles active in breathing. Hiccups occour every year and harmless but annoying. Stopping these hiccups could be done in 4 easy steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • papper bag/s
  • several glasses of water
Step1
take a deep breath. hold it as long as possible.
Step2
If that does not work, slowly sip several glasses of cold water.
Step3
cover your mouth and nose with a paper bag and inhale and exhale into it for some 2 till 3 minutes;the accumulation of carbon dioxide sometimes stops the spasms.
Step4
If the attack persist for an hour or more,consult a doctor.

on 9/9/2007 I found the best way to stop hiccups is take a drink of water BUT DO NOT SWALLOW until you tip your head back--then swallow. Another way is to put both arms up like you are reaching for something; tilt head back then swallow. It may sound ludicrous but give it a try. Guaranteed to work. What have you got to lose?

on 9/9/2007 To stop hiccups immediately, try a teaspoon of peanut butter. Works every time!
