Step 1
first select a peaceful place for your meditation,
you can do in in your room also but silence must be maintained -
Step 2
sit in a posture as shown in the image and close your eyes,
now take deep breathe 2 to 3 seconds long slowly and exhale it the same as you h've done while inhaling
concentrate how you are taking the breathe and releasing it,don't think other things ,just you concentrate how your tking the breath and releasing -
Step 3
slowly you breathe rate decrease ,and you will go into a peaceful world.
after 5 or 10 minutes slowly open your eyes.
Incease the time as you go on practising.

on 3/7/2008 Getting into the Lotus position is very difficult for most people, I'd guess. The article probably would have been more helpful if you'd left that step out, and just told people to get into a comfortable position.
