The cornucopia is the staple decoration of all fall and Thanksgiving celebrations. While the abundantly filled vegetable centerpiece is beautiful, it won't last as long as a silk floral arrangement you can put together with ease. Add flowers and decorations that fit your taste and put your cornucopia out for friends and family to enjoy throughout the season.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cornucopia basket
  • Floral foam
  • Scissors
  • Large silk sunflowers
  • Small silk sunflowers
  • Silk fall leaves
  • Silk grasses
  • Silk daisies
  • Pine cones
  • Small gourds
  • Hot glue
  1. Step 1

Fill a pre-made cornucopia basket with floral foam. Cut the foam into pieces to fit the entire basket, and glue it in place using a hot glue gun. Foam should fill the basket to about 1 inch from the opening.

  2. Step 2

Lay the basket on the side. Start with the larger blooms, such as sunflowers, decorative leaves and grasses. Cut the stems down to about 4 or 5 inches, leaving as much foliage as you can.

  3. Step 3

Put a drop of hot glue on the end of each stem before sticking it into the foam as far as you can to secure it. Place the large blooms scattered throughout the opening leaving holes for smaller blooms and items.

  4. Step 4

Add small blooms like daisies or other fall flowers to fill open areas in the basket. Insert either real or fake pine cones and gourds in and around the foliage. Use hot glue to secure the items tightly to the foam.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use other silk fall flowers or any decorative foliage to fill the cornucopia.
  • Making your cornucopia completely out of silk flowers allows you to decorate with it for a long fall season.
  • If you use real gourds, be prepared to take them out when the start softening up, or dry them out before using them.
