How to Put Packing Boxes Together
Putting packing boxes together can be daunting to some people. Boxes look simple but if not assembled properly, can and will fall apart when packed with your precious belongings.

1
Buy your boxes from a box company, moving company or get them free at a grocery store. You may want to do all three to save money and make sure you have enough of various box sizes.
-
2
Fold down the top flaps of the box. If the container is not marked as a formal moving box, which a grocery store box will not be, you can easily identify the top side. Look for a certification stamp on the bottom outside flap of the box. The certification stamp has pertinent information about the box like how much weight the box can hold, if it is a single or double wall box and where the box is made.

3
Unfold the box so it looks like a square.
-
4
Flip the box over to its bottom side. Tape along the longest flaps two-to-three times.
-
5
Pack the box with the items you want to put in it.
-
6
Fold down the top-side flaps. The longest flaps of the box should be on top and this is what will be taped on the top, just like you did on the bottom side.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure you use packing tape to assemble your boxes. Other kinds of tape are not designed to hold a box properly and can break when the box is picked up.
