How to Change the Name From Which Emails are Sent
When you open an email account, you are not always given an option to choose the name you want in the email "from" line. Most of the time your email provider auto-populates this field with the account holder's name. However, you can change the name from which emails are sent.
Instructions

1
Open your email account. Click on options and select "General Preferences."
-
2
Scroll down to the area that asks you how you want your name to appear on your emails. This can say "From Name" or something similar. It may be blank, or it may already have your name or a name you listed.
-
-
3
Erase the name in the box by highlighting it and pressing the backspace key on your computer. Now change the name by typing in the name as you would like to appear.
-
4
Save this by clicking on the "Save" button. Close out of "Options," and return to your inbox.
-
5
Test this new name by sending an email to yourself. The email should have your new name in the "From" line with your email address. For example, it should say "Sue Smith"
. If this works, you have successfully changed your name from which emails are sent.

Tips & Warnings
A few email providers only list email addresses and not names in the "from" line. Send a test email to yourself to see if this is the case for your particular provider.
