Outlook Express is free email that comes with Internet Explorer. You can easily send and receive individual messages, group messages, add a signature at the end of your message and locate lost messages. But there may be times when you receive unwanted emails. Block a sender in your Outlook Express email by following these steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Click the unwanted sender's email message in your Inbox. Select the "Message" menu at the top of the page.
Step2
Move down to "Block Sender" in the "Message" menu at the top of the screen. Choose "Block Sender" to add that sender's email address to your "Blocked Senders" list.
Step3
Check that the unwanted sender's email has been added to the "Blocked Senders List." Go to "Tools" at the top of the page next to "Message." From there, pick "Message Rules." Go to the "Blocked Senders List" to ensure that the email is listed.
Step4
Have future emails from the blocked sender automatically sent to your Deleted Items folder located on the left side of your Inbox screen. This happens after you follow the procedure for blocking the sender.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remove an email address from the "Blocked Senders List" if you change your mind about blocking the sender. Access the "Tools" menu, then go back to "Message Rules." Find the "Blocked Senders List." Highlight the email address that you want to remove. Choose "Remove" to delete the address from the list.
