The easiest way to block a sender in Eudora Pro 4, or with any email client, is to set up a filter that automatically directs unwanted messages to the trash. While this doesn't block all senders, you can set filters that can block most unwanted email.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open a message you wish to block in the future. Find "Tools" on the toolbar at the top of the screen. Click on it. The drop down box gives you the "Filters" option. Choose it.

  2. Step 2

Select "New." A dialog box opens that allows you to set your filter. Since you are blocking incoming mail, check "Incoming."

  3. Step 3

Pick the criteria that the incoming email must meet in order to block it. You may input a specific name such as jane.doe@abcjunk.com, or you may just block a domain. You have the option of choosing recipients, senders and subjects to filter.

  4. Step 4

Define the action or actions you want Eudora to take. There are over 15 options. Choose "Transfer To." Another screen appears. Select "Delete Message." That filters the designated messages to the trash.

  5. Step 5

Click on "Create Filter" when you have the filter or filters set to block the designated email address. Then save your changes. Go to "File" and click on "Save." Or exit "Filters," and then Eudora asks if you want to save your changes. Click "Yes."

  6. Step 6

Remove a block by going to the "Tools" menu. Select "Filters." Highlight the filter from the filters list. Click "Remove." Also, you may change your filters at any time.
