Being stuck in the office during the week is basically a recipe for poor eating and no exercise. Since this is sometimes unavoidable, using the weekend to make up for sloppy fitness and diet habits is a good way to clean up, lose weight and prepare for the next week. Follow these steps if you want to be a weekend weight warrior.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Prepare on Friday. Take the last day of the work week to get yourself ready for a weekend of healthy eating and exercise. Instead of going out to binge on beer and graze on pretzels, spend the evening shopping for fresh ingredients and cooking some healthy food for the weekend and the coming week. If you want to have a drink, go for red wine instead of beer.
Step2
Do a regular exercise routine on both days. Performing a regular exercise routine on Saturday and Sunday morning will give a boost to your weight warrior weekend. The routine will push you further along your fitness course and motivate you to do more and eat better during the weekend.
Step3
Correct your eating. The weekend is a perfect time to practice some weight loss eating habits. Instead of having a big lunch, as you probably do during the week, eat 5 or 6 small meals throughout the day. Also, load up on water to flush caffeine and other dehydrating chemicals from your body in order to spur some weight loss.
Step4
Do some weekend warrior activity. Extended physical activity such as a long bike ride, run or hike is a great way to unleash your inner weekend weight warrior. Doing a low intensity cardio activity will help you lose weight, reduce stress and have fun with your friends and family while you're at it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check with your physician before starting an intensive weekend workout. If you're seriously out of shape, increase your weekend workout intensity gradually to avoid injury.
