Things You'll Need:
- Pastel eye shadow
- Cosmetic applicators
-
Step 1
Determine the skin tone of the person that will be wearing the pastel eye shadows, before you begin the application process. It's really a combination of skin tone, hair color, eye color and age of the person that should be considered.
-
Step 2
Study a person with deep brown eyes, olive complexion and dark hair. This person will look great in pinks, rose colors and even pale greens. Don't be afraid to mix the pastel eye shadows with shades of browns and neutrals.
-
Step 3
View a person with blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin and this person should apply pastel eye shadows in blues, lavenders, pinks and even very pale green. Again, it is deciding what will look best on a certain skin type. If this person is tanned, try adding pastels in deeper shades like a peach color.
-
Step 4
How about a person with auburn or red toned hair, green eyes and pale skin? Applying pastel eye shadows in pale greens or soft peach type colors will really give you a very complimentary look.
-
Step 5
Apply the eye shadow with a soft cosmetic brush or sponge. Cover the lid and, depending upon personal preference and face structure, you may want to carry this color upwards and outwards to underneath the brow. Add a little deeper shade of the pastel added first on the lid to the arch area of the eye. Use a sponge or cotton swab to blend in any areas that may be a little heavy. Examine both eyes in the mirror to make sure they are equal and even in application.
-
Step 6
Go bolder in the evenings for a dressier look. It looks great to blend a sparkly or shimmer to your pastel eye shadow color. It really makes your eyes sparkle in the evening lights.
