How to Add a Google Map to a Webpage
If you surf the web, you've come across a Google Map at one time or another. You don't have to be a web guru to post one of these searchable maps on your website. They can be embedded into any website page relatively quickly and easily. Use the Google Map Search Wizard to display a location to your website visitors by following these steps.

Decide which web page will display the Google Map. Open the web page in an HTML editor software program.

Go to the API Google Map Search Wizard web page. Fill out the form information. You need to provide a map width and height, zoom level, location name, the exact page URL where you want to display the Google Map, a location street address and your website URL.

Reads the "terms of use" on the Google Map Search Wizard page. You agree to these terms when you use the Google Search and Map APIs.

Click the "Generate Code" button. The Google Map site page reloads with all of the source code for the map. Copy and paste the code in the web page where you want the Google Map to display on the page. Save the page.

Publish the page to your website server. Load the page with the map code into a web browser.

Test the map. Make sure the Google Map loads in the page. Click on the green arrow and the address should display. Click the "Pan" and "Zoom" buttons to make sure they work. Type a location into the search field and click the "Search" button to test the search functionality. If everything works, the searchable map is ready for your web visitors to use.

Tips & Warnings
You can edit the size of the map by changing the height and width parameters directly in the code of the web page.
Be aware that Google Maps can only be placed on websites that are accessible to the general public. You won't be able to use the map on a private intranet site.
