Valentine's Day is a popular holiday that symbolizes love. While many people receive gifts on this day, it's sometimes hard to know exactly how to express gratitude for these presents. Here's how to accept your Valentine's gift graciously.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Express gratitude toward the person who gave you the Valentine's Day present. If it's a gift from someone who you love or care about, a loving hug or kiss is appropriate. If the gift is from a casual friend, just a simple thank-you is fine.

  2. Step 2

Think about the Valentine's Day gift and why the person presented it to you. If it's an obvious gift of love from a spouse or significant other, present her with a gift as well. If you didn't expect the gift, apologize for not having something.

  3. Step 3

Send a token of appreciation for the gift, whether you expected it or not.

  4. Step 4

Display the Valentine's Day gift somewhere where the giver can see it. Wear that jewelry at your next meeting. Display those trinkets, pictures, or other items in a special place.

  5. Step 5

Remind the giver that you appreciate the thoughtfulness.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be honest with the person. If you are not fond of the person who gave you the present in a loving way, explain why you didn't expect anything.
