Make someone happy every day by giving them a compliment. Flatter someone you like, love or even someone you hate. You may win someone over with a kind word when you first meet them, and flattery may even reconcile an estranged friend or family member.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a flaw. Someone may get on your nerves because they talk too loudly or because they are nosey. Find the flaw's opposite, and compliment it. Compliment your co-worker who dresses too outrageously by telling her you admire her natural make-up or hairstyle.

  2. Step 2

Use award programs at work. Flatter your dedicated co-worker with a recognition award. Nominate him or her for a new project or let their boss know you appreciate their work and let it trickle down.

  3. Step 3

Pick the right words. Flatter someone by calling them slender. If you use a flattering term, it will be taken as flattery, whereas if you use a word like "skinny," it could be taken the wrong way.

  4. Step 4

Seek out the good. Even if the woman you are talking to has the brain the size of a peanut, accentuate her positives. Let her know you appreciate her earrings, her laugh or her haircut.

  5. Step 5

Take stock of work well done. Flatter someone for their work. Whether you are looking at your wife's hard work on dinner or your child's hard work on a new project, let them know you noticed the end result. Making someone else feel good is just like volunteering--you will end up feeling better about yourself as well.
