The gang is coming over for a rousing game of gin rummy. You're so excited that you begin to prepare the week before, and luckily you did. Don't buy a new one; just repair the old one. The process can be simple if you follow the steps below.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Screwdriver, either Phillips or straight
  • Plastic replacement cloth
  • Heavy tape
  • Silicon lubricant
  1. Step 1

Unstick a card table leg by spraying its metal hinges with a silicon spray. Open and close the leg a few times to work it in. Repeat the application if the leg is still sticky.

  2. Step 2

Steady a wobbly leg by turning over the card table and checking for a loose screw. Tighten all the screws and the table should be steady once more.

  3. Step 3

Repair a tear in the surface by replacing the plastic fabric. Simply look under the frame between the leg braces and find the screws that hold the top to the table and unscrew them. Take the top off the frame and remove the torn plastic. Don't throw it away, as it will be used as a pattern to cut a new covering. Once cut, anchor the plastic in place with heavy tape. This is just to hold it on until the frame is secure. Insert the top in the frame, screw down and remove the tape for a new table look.
